Our Origin Story
En Fuego Solar & Kids En Fuego (for solar)
Jokes about solar powered flashlights told around Scouting campfires are some of my first memories of solar. That’s what it was — something that existed, but was far more common in conversation than in people’s everyday lives.
Fast forward to 2022 — I started talking with friends about how far solar technology has come and how fast its forward progress continues. One friend told me about how her father was involved in developing / inventing new solar technologies in the 1970s.
I loved that a technology could be helpful to so many people with different needs. People who want to harness the sun and use its energy for even more than we already do — and helpful for people who are not on an electrical grid or have limited access to electricity. Solar can be such a powerful force in the daily lives of every person.
Quickly, I came to realize I wanted to start my own business in the world of solar energy, a business where everyone who works can be proud. I wanted to bring solar energy to individuals, businesses and communities.
Imagining my friend as a young child hearing about her father’s work on solar and how she still thinks about it today was the final piece. We will use our knowledge and understanding to show children this technology. To show children how they can be part of this technology that is the future — they can use and be involved no matter where they follow their interests — improving a business by using solar energy, managing solar projects, installing solar systems or enjoying solar power in their homes.
From this came En Fuego Solar and Kids En Fuego (for Solar)
